Learn About Fat Loss Ketosis

By Thomas Roberts

Losing fat is much harder than people think. Even when you succeed in losing extra kilograms, the fact is that belly fat will probably stay where it was. Anyway, this can be easily explained, and this particular problem can also be easily solved, if you put your organism in a so called fat loss ketosis state.

Your body needs fuel to be able to work properly. Using glucose cells is the easiest way for this, and that's why your body uses this source predominantly. If you limit the consumption of carbohydrates, it will force the body to search for its fuel elsewhere. That's when it will start burning those unwanted reserves of energy stored on your belly.

In the state of ketosis, the body starts to breakdown stored fat, producing energy for its functioning. It will result in increasing of acids called ketones. As he source of energy the body uses, fat acids have other side effects that you will probably appreciate. First, they do suppress appetite, and there will be no sugar craving as with other diets. Even so, some rules have to be followed, for health reasons.

So, there is a simple reason for burning belly fat here. In the process of lipolysis, fat cells releases molecules of stored fat, and in oxidation process, these molecules are used for energy. There are two types of fat receptors, alpha and beta. Beta receptors stimulate the process of lipolysis, unlike alpha receptors, and that's why you don't lose fat equally on every area.

In the state of ketosis, the thing called catecholamine enters the blood and attaches to fat cell receptors, to release the fatty acids. In this case, catecholamine more easily attaches to beta receptors than to alpha receptors, and these beta receptors are actually contained in your belly fat. In the process of lipolysis, fatty acids within get released, and can be used as a fuel.

During other diets, your organism is programmed to use glucose, or blood sugar, primarily. In this normal state of functioning, when your body uses fat for energy, it uses alpha fat cells, and there are not many of them on the belly. That's why you can eat less and lose fat from other areas, and belly fat will remain stubborn. During ketosis, the situation is entirely different.

Fats contain more energy than carbohydrates. That's why they release more energy as well. It takes more time to burn them, and that's why you won't be hunger so quickly as with other diets. Carbohydrates give high energy levels that do not last long, while it is entirely different with fats. Of course, you also need to take sufficient levels of proteins.

The consumption of carbohydrates has to be reduced to up to 60 grams a day, and you have to take 20 to 30 percent of your daily calorie intake in proteins. The rest can come from fats. Since you cannot take enough vitamins and minerals in this type of diet, it is a good idea to take dietary supplements.
